Project: Safety Video

I worked closely with the safety manager to develop a concept and script for this project. I also oversaw the budgeting and logistics for the process as well as assisting with the editing of the final product
“H&Askham Ltd is an electrical installation company that can offer a full range of services; including cable pulling and installation, fiber, HV and EHV jointing, and associated civils works and all required testing.
H&Askham’s major offshore projects include The London Array and Global Tech 1 Offshore Wind Farms carrying out power and fiber terminations and jointing and testing for the project. Currently on land we are working on a prestigious 400kV upgrade installation project in North Wales.”
Brief: Produce a high quality 3-minute video showing the company’s dedication to safety in the work place.
Process:
We spent time with the client developing the overall concept for the video and fine tuning the script. We identified the key areas which we wanted to cover and while ensuring that we dealt with the fact clearly and directly we also wanted to make it entertaining which is how we came to decide on an a rather tongue in cheek introduction. The content itself took several weeks to settle on and during this time a lot of our work was done remotely using video conferencing and cloud technology.
Challenges:
Due to the nature of what we were presenting we had to be very careful about what we showed in terms of compliance with the strict safety standards. We had to make sure that everyone we featured and every area of the site met all the prescribed safety standards.
We also spent a lot of time on the language of the video to ensure that we highlighted several ‘keywords’ and areas which are most relevant to the clients and viewers
